McCutcheon Chardonnay

Ten Minutes by Tractor McCutcheon Chardonnay, made only in the finest vintages, is handpicked from the highest performing blocks of the estate's McCutcheon Vineyard.

The site's easterly slope offers gentle warming of the soils, the vines avoiding the intense heat of the day. With the fruit kept cooler, the result is more elegant flavours and greater structure.

The grapes are whole bunch pressed and the unsettled juice is transferred to small French oak barrels, around 15% new, for wild yeast fermentation. Natural malolactic fermentation follows.

The wine spends around 10 months maturing in barrel with no lees stirring, keeping the flavours fresher and more taut. It is racked off lees and bottled without fining.

Bright straw green, Ten Minutes by Tractor McCutcheon Chardonnay is wine of coiled power, with bold fruit flavours and nutty oak offsetting its citrus acidity.
